Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about buying a used car from Japan with Ravo Motors. Still unsure? Send your wishlist and destination port by WhatsApp and we will reply with available car details and a quote.

Buying and payment

How do I find the car I want?
Browse our stock or send us a specific request by WhatsApp or via the auction request form. Tell us the car you want and your preferred destination port, then we confirm availability and quote options.
Are your prices in USD or local currency?
All prices on the site are FOB Japan in United States Dollars (USD). On a country page we also show the price converted to the local currency for reference. Your invoice and bank transfer will be in USD unless we agree otherwise in writing.
How do I pay?
Payment terms are confirmed in your quote. After you approve the quote, the agreed first payment starts shipment. The remaining payment is released when the car reaches your port, and documents are sent after full payment.
Can I pay in instalments?
We agree payment terms per quote. The shipment starts after the agreed first payment, and the remaining payment is released when the car reaches port.
Can payment terms change?
The payment terms for each car are written in the quote before you pay. Please review our Terms of Sale in full before making payment.

Inspection and documentation

How do I know the car is real and not a fake listing?
Send the stock ID or car details to our sales team. We share the available photos, car details, and condition notes so you can decide before approving a quote.
What is an auction sheet?
An auction sheet is a condition report issued at a Japanese auction when available. It can include grade, mileage, repair history, and notes. If a sheet is available for the car you request, we can include it in the car details.
What does JEVIC mean?
JEVIC is a pre-shipment inspection company used for some export markets. Inspection requirements depend on the destination country and shipment, so we confirm what applies in your quote.

Shipping and delivery

Which ports do you ship to?
We can quote shipment to many ports worldwide. Tell us your preferred destination port and we confirm available route, method, and cost for that shipment.
How long does shipping take?
Transit time depends on the destination port, route, vessel schedule, and shipping method. We confirm the expected timing for your specific quote instead of promising one schedule for every buyer.
What is the difference between FOB and CIF?
FOB (Free On Board) is the price of the car loaded on the vessel at a Japanese port. CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) is FOB plus marine freight and insurance to the destination port. Most buyers choose CIF so we handle the shipping booking and insurance for them.
What if the car is damaged in transit?
Shipping terms and insurance options depend on the quote and shipment method. We confirm what is included before you pay.

Duty, clearance and registration

Can you quote shipping to my port?
Yes. Message us with the car ID and your destination port. We confirm the car price, shipping option, payment terms, and what is included in that quote.
Who clears the car at the port?
You or your clearing agent clear the car at the destination port. After full payment is completed, we send the documents needed for clearance.
Are there age limits on imported cars?
Import rules vary by country. Please confirm local requirements with your clearing agent or authority; we can use your destination details when preparing the quote.

After delivery

What if the car has a problem on arrival?
We share available car details before you approve the quote. Once the car reaches the destination port and the agreed process is complete, any local mechanical service or registration is handled by you or your local agent.
Do you offer a money-back guarantee?
No. Ravo Motors does not offer money-back, satisfaction, or post-delivery refund guarantees. We keep the process clear in writing before payment.
Can I buy more than one car?
Yes. We work with both private buyers and dealers. For multi-unit orders we offer dedicated sales support and can negotiate freight and inspection rates. Email or WhatsApp our sales team to discuss volume terms.
